Open House Contemporary 2005, supported by Corus, had a number of strands for different audiences. Using the capital's spaces and places as platforms for reflection, it provided a forum for more in depth dialogue about what makes great places and spaces, the complexities of the design process, how architects think and create, the innovative technologies and materials used to create buildings and the forces affecting design. The programme provided a platform for architects and design influencers. In short we hoped it would have enhanced our audiences' experience and perceptions of the built environment and the buildings in which we live and work.

The first set of talks 'Show and Tell' took place in September 2005, followed by the 'Designs on the Future - Steel and Architecture' lecture in autumn.

'So what do you really believe?'

The OpenHouseContemporary programme changes pace in 2006 with a number of debates around the theme of architectural values held by eminent architects. The first of this series will be by Bob Allies, Allies & Morrison, a practice which whilst growing 10 fold, nevertheless retains its original architectural beliefs.
